John Hennessey, owner and founder of Hennessey Performance, has always said that he wants to make fast cars go faster. Well, he’s done it again. Introducing THE EXORCIST, a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with, wait for it, 1000 horses.
Recently, Dodge released the Demon, the 850 horsepower Goliath Challenger. John Hennessey has something coming for the Demon, THE EXORCIST.
The ZL1’s Chevy LT4 V8 is equipped with a larger, higher flowing supercharger and an upgraded intercooler system producing 14 psi of boost, as well as many other badass upgrades. THE EXORCIST will produce 1000 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Damn.
“THE EXORCIST is not just a ¼ mile racer. It’s a well-rounded super muscle car that is just as happy on a road course as it is on the dragstrip and street. Needless to say, this will leave the competition’s heads spinning,” Hennessey said in a press release.
And that it will, THE EXORCIST can be ordered directly from Chevrolet dealers and is available for both the 6-speed manual and the 10-speed automatic ZL1s. Current ZL1 owners can also send theirs to Hennessey to receive the upgrades for $55,000. If only I had a ZL1 in my garage and $55,000 laying around, yeah right. Only 100 EXORCISTs will be produced per model year.
